Components of the Dashboard Copy Window

On the left is a summary of the source dashboard to copy. The information presented is:

  • Dashboard Name
  • Dashboard Description
  • The Dashboard Type
  • The Dashboard width
  • Number of widgets on this dashboard
  • Copy Widget Points Checkbox

Whether the widget points will be cloned to any new widget made on the target dashboard. Note for super users this is only allowed if cloning to a dashboard in the same organisation as the source dashboard – You cannot copy points across organisations.

Dashboard Destination List:

  • On the right is a list of all dashboard destinations that this widget can be copied to. This list is somewhat elevated privileges in terms of what dashboards can be accessed. It is not “All Dashboards the logged on User can see within the organisation” It is “All Dashboards that any user in the user’s organisation could ever see”.
  • The default sorting for this list is by Dashboard Name (alphabetic asci descending) but may also be ordered by another column by clicking on the column header.
  • The additional columns are dashboard Type, the width of that dashboard and the number of widgets on that dashboard.
  • The dashboard grid has text filter boxes to filter/search for dashboards. Type in the column headers filters to see the list reduced to find only matches for text entered here.

Select Self Button: If you have a long list of dashboards and want to quickly find yourself to copy/clone to yourself then click this to find yourself in the dash list. Note for super users. This button is only available if cloning to destination dashboards in the same org as the source dashboard.

Organisation Drop-down: A super user will see the Organisation drop-down here and be able to select a different organisation (and press go) to see the list of dashboards in that organisation appear in the dashboard destination list.
